Work has started on three residential blocks within St Austell’s £75m town centre regeneration scheme, which is due to open this autumn.

Sir Robert McAlpine, the main contractor appointed by the South West Regional Development Agency for White River Place, has begun to erect the three-storey building on South Street.

By next month work is planned for the two residential blocks on Trinity Street from mid-February.

The scheme is funded by developer White River Developments while just over £3m is being invested by the South West RDA.
