The massive Northern Ireland outsourcing contract Workplace 2010 has moved to the final stages today.

The final two bidders Land Securities Trillium and Telereal have now been invited to submit their best and final offers for the contract to outsource the Northern Ireland Civil Service’s property portfolio, which could be worth up to £1bn.

Following a judge’s decision in November to lift the injunction that had paused the process (Property Week, 30.11.07), the final bidders are now putting together their ultimate offers.

The process had been delayed by one of the underbidders for the contract, Partenaire, a consortium backed by Northern Irish developer McAleer & Rushe, which claimed that the process was biased.

It applied for a judicial review but eventually pursued its claims through the commercial court.

The tender was delayed by Belfast’s high court, which suspended the process while the claim was heard.

However this was overturned and the process is now officially back underway.
