XXI Century Investments, the AIM-listed Ukrainian property developer, has won planning consent to develop a 49,514 sq ft (4,600 sq m) shopping centre in Kiev

Planning was granted by officials at Kyiv City Council for the Kvadrat Balzaka centre, which will be located in one of Ukraine’s high density residential communities on Kiev’s left bank.

Around 30,139 sq ft (2,800 sq m) of the centre will comprise retail with the remainder used to accommodate a bowling alley. The centre will be served by underground parking.

XXI Century aims to begin work on site in the second quarter of 2007 with completion due 12 months later.

Development of the centre is estimated at US$4.7m (£2.35m).
