Sir Alan Sugar’s new apprentice will work at his property investment business Amsprop and train as a surveyor.

The winner of the BBC series The Apprentice was revealed last night - Simon Ambrose, 27, was picked ahead of rival and favourite Kristina Grimes.

Sugar revealed that winner Ambrose will train as a surveyor while working for his property investment business Amsprop that is run by his son Daniel Sugar.

Among Ambrose's tasks will be the development of a project near Stanstead airport to create a hotel and golf complex.

The 12 week show whittled down 16 contestants to one winner last night.

The final competition, played out between Grimes and Ambrose, involved the contestants competing to win a design competition for a building on London’s South Bank. Ambrose won.
