Question: I am about to buy some land for development. However, I have learned there are badgers living in the area. Do I need special permission to build?

Badgers are a protected species by virtue of the Protection of Badgers Act 1992 and their presence on a development site can cause time delays, increased costs and potential adverse publicity.
