HSBC announced its decision to keep its HQ in the UK after a unanimous vote by board members.
Despite the bank’s strategic focus on Asia, London was seen to be “ideally positioned” to be the firm’s HQ location following a review.
Fast-forward to 2023 and the banking giant has just appointed Cushman & Wakefield to conduct a strategic review of its office requirements with a view to reducing its space.
It was reported in September 2022 that HSBC was mulling a move out of Canary Wharf due to the shift towards hybrid working.
