The Care and Support Specialised Housing (CASSH) Fund was launched in partnership with the Department of Health.

Johnson invited bids from a range of organisations that “championed innovative design, accessibility and new technology”.

In 2018, it was announced CASSH was being extended until 2021 with an extra £76m of yearly funding. By 2018, some 3,300 homes had been built by housing providers taking advantage of the scheme.
