The London Borough of Newham granted planning permission for 3,000 homes at the Silvertown site in east London’s Royal Docks.
The Greater London Authority, owner of the 62-acre derelict industrial site, worked with The Silvertown Partnership on the scheme, after then mayor of London Boris Johnson approved regeneration plans in December 2015.
A Section 106 agreement ensured that 1,050 of the scheme’s homes would be affordable – including those for rent at 50% of the market rate as well as shared ownership initiatives.
