Total investment in the UK hotel market hit £8.1bn, the highest level since 2006.

New Savills data showed that in 2015, investment rose 31.6% on the £6.1bn posted in 2014, with transactions in the London market doubling to £3.6bn, up from £1.8bn the previous year.

Last year, hotel investment shot up by 84% to £3.14bn as activity began to bounce back in the wake of Covid. Earlier this week, it was reported that Alchemy Partners was selling The Inn Collection portfolio in the north of England and Wales, for more than £300m as the recovery continues.
