The group was on the hunt for sites capable of accommodating buildings of up to four storeys in height and 2.2m sq ft in size.

In the three years since, the retailer’s take-up of UK logistics space has accelerated. According to data from Savills, 2020 was a record year for logistics take-up, with new leases signed for 50.1m sq ft of space. Amazon accounted for 25% of total take-up and has carried on sealing logistics deals this year.
