Broadcaster Channel 4 confirmed Leeds as the location for its new HQ, selecting the Yorkshire city ahead of Birmingham and Manchester.
Channel 4 had committed to establishing a new national HQ outside London earlier that year in the biggest structural change in its 35-year history.
The Majestic, an iconic former cinema and nightclub venue under development in the centre of Leeds, was chosen as the new base and was opened by the broadcaster in 2019 with plans to move more than 250 of its London staff to the new site.
