Fuller’s announced that it had acquired the Cotswold Inns & Hotels portfolio of seven Birmingham hotels and two bars for £40m.

The freehold properties were bought from Michael and Pamela Horton, who built up the portfolio.

Peter Turner, property director at Fuller’s, said at the time that the seven “iconic country hotels” were “highly complementary” to its existing property strategy.

In 2021, Fuller’s chief executive Simon Emeny said the boom in staycations had led to strong trading in parts of its estate – particularly Cotswold Inns & Hotels.
