Mayor of London Sadiq Khan wrote an open letter to the government warning of the “catastrophic” effects that a no-deal Brexit would have on affordable housing delivery.
The letter, also signed by London councils and the G15 group, slammed the uncertainty surrounding Brexit.
Fast-forward to now and the UK has withdrawn from the EU, with a new trade deal coming into force at the start of 2021, avoiding a no-deal scenario.
Khan recently said housing delivery had still been hit hard by both Covid and Brexit, and has asked for more government support to solve the capital’s housing crisis.
