Housing secretary Robert Jenrick called on London mayor Sadiq Khan to make wholesale changes to the London Plan.
The letter from the MP said Khan’s housing delivery was “majorly disappointing” and urged the mayor to make changes to enable use of vacant industrial land, consider using the green belt and promote high-density areas.
The London Plan was finally signed off in January 2021, including policies covering the development of affordable homes, the suitability of tall buildings, protection of cultural venues, and the prioritisation of brownfield sites.
