Drivers Jonas instructed to sell major Essex site

The North East London NHS Foundation Trust has instructed Drivers Jonas to sell the Mascalls Park Hospital site in Brentwood, Essex.

The 10-acre green belt site could be redeveloped to provide 100 residential units after the hospital closes in 2010.

Mascalls Park Hospital is due to close in 2010, when the services will be transferred to a new hospital at Goodmayes Hospital in Redbridge.

Alex McKinlay, a partner in the Drivers Jonas public sector development team, said: “Mascalls Park is an great opportunity to acquire a prime site in an outstanding parkland setting. It will provide an excellent barometer to the land market. The timing and cash flow implications of the planning lead in should fit perfectly with developers’ new business plans.”
