JD Wetherspoon reports bumper year for new openings

JD Wetherspoon, the managed-house pub company founded by Tim Martin from a single pub in Muswell Hill, north London in 1979, increased capital expenditure on new properties to £97.7m last year compared with £53.2m in 2013.
