Scape artist: Nigel Taee interview

Scape Nigel Taee

Scape co-founder Nigel Taee talks to Samantha Partington about how he launched the fast-growing student accommodation company in the teeth of the global recession and his plans to expand the brand.

Fortunately, the gamble paid off. Ten years on, Scape, which specialises in luxury student accommodation, is a global brand with a £2bn portfolio and a further £1bn pipeline in London, Dublin, Brighton and Australia.

Just last week, the company’s co-founder and chairman announced he had acquired his first US site as part of a $4bn (£3bn) drive to develop 20,000 beds in the country over the next five years– and his ambitions for the business don’t end there, as he reveals in an exclusive interview with Property Week.
