It will bring together experts who are driving the future of developments to meet the demand for building space in the sector.

The event will explore the latest trends, the developments shaping the sector and the challenges the sector needs to overcome to meet demand and deliver the next generation of science and research real estate.

Property Week editor Lem Bingley said: “The UK is a world leader in life sciences universities but lags behind internationally in the provision of lab space for commercialising research. This shortfall has held back the UK’s progress, but thankfully it has not gone unnoticed. Developers, investors and regional authorities are all now poised to dramatically accelerate the provision of space suitable for science and technology development.

“This event from both Construction News and Property Week will bring together all of the stakeholders necessary for the UK to make a leap forward in the space race for life sciences labs.”

Construction News editor Colin Marrs added:  “There is no shortage of work for construction firms in the burgeoning life sciences sector and research sector. With huge investor appetite, this pipeline looks set to provide opportunities for many years to come.

“Our conference will be a valuable chance to discover where – and from whom – firms should be looking for new business, and the techniques needed to deliver life sciences and research facilities to the high specifications required by clients.”

The conference will take place on 27 June at Hilton London Canary Wharf.
