SEGRO’s Andy Gulliford talks to Property Week about the new Paris warehouse being hailed as the first of a ‘new generation of multi-storey’ sheds.
The opening of Air2 Logistique marked a major milestone for SEGRO. The developer had spent years working up designs, appraising the rental model and assessing occupier demand for multi-storey sheds and finally, it had delivered.
The plan now is to roll out similar schemes in and around London as well as other major European cities. As chief operating officer Andy Gulliford tells Property Week at the grand opening: “It’s proof of concept,” the blueprint for a “new generation of multi-storey” sheds.
The UK could certainly do with a new generation. Currently, the country boasts just one multi-storey scheme: a first-generation double-decker facility near Heathrow acquired by SEGRO when it bought rival Brixton in 2009.
