Dalata hotels insists it’s ready for recovery as pandemic destroys profit

Dalata Aldgate Place

Covid-19 devastated revenue at Dalata Hotel Group with the lockdowns slashing income by 68% and leading to the Dublin-based group swinging to a €111.5m (£96.4m) pre-tax loss for the year to the end of 2020.

Signalling its determination to survive the pandemic the group, which titled its full year figures “Unbowed and unbroken”, insisted it remains in a strong financial position and was preparing for a strong recovery once hotels are permitted to open again after the easing of lockdown restrictions in the UK and Ireland.
