Marks and Spencer has revealed that it will shut 100 stores by 2022, accelerating the company reorganisation it announced in November 2016.

The retailer claimed the move was “vital” for the firm’s future, adding 21 of the 100 stores had already been closed and M&S has now revealed the locations of 14 further sites to close. The shakeup will affect 872 jobs in places such as Darlington, Northampton and Stockton.
