Shares in McCarthy & Stone fell 16.7% to 108.60p on Tuesday following the news chief executive Clive Fenton is leaving the company after it released a profit warning following a “noticeable decline” in reservations.
Overall, the FTSE 100 fell 0.35% on Tuesday to 7,604.12 points while the FTSE 250 closed the day down 0.72% to 20,848.57 points.
