The fundamental outlook for the UK economy and commercial property market remains strong.
We will continue to acquire assets for the M&G UK Enhanced Value Fund. The current political backdrop is making many investors cautious about well-located, secondary assets, creating arbitrage opportunities for us to buy and manage eye-catching properties and create value through our asset management expertise.
We anticipate continued high demand for commercial real estate, spurred by low interest rates.
As last year, the logistics and industrials sector should perform strongly and we think alternative asset classes will continue to establish themselves as an important part of investment portfolios. Perhaps it will be the year we stop calling them ‘alternatives’.
We expect increased sales of retail assets as the long-term structural changes in the sector persist, but this could lead to opportunities to acquire further high-quality retail assets for investors who can spot value.
