Radisson Hotel Group has more than 70 properties and 16,000 rooms in operation and under development across nine brands in the UK & Ireland, located in major cities and destinations and catering for business and leisure guests.
The Group recently announced the signing of its first affordable, high design prizeotel property in the UK & Ireland region, scheduled to open in Dublin in Q1 2025. This landmark property follows a series of exciting signings and openings for the Group’s lifestyle brands in the region.
Located on the prominent James Street, prizeotel Dublin will be situated in the “Liberties” area, one of Dublin’s oldest neighborhoods just outside the medieval walled city, dating back to the twelfth century, and named one of the world’s coolest neighborhoods by Time Out magazine in 2021.
prizeotel Dublin will be within walking distance to The Irish Museum of Modern Art, home to the national collection of modern and contemporary art with over 3,500 artworks by Irish and international artists. The property is located a short distance from the world-famous Guinness Brewery and Storehouse, Dublin Zoo and St Patrick’s Cathedral.
The hotel will feature 145 rooms decorated in a mix of urban style and relaxed ambience, and a bistro bar spanning 250m2 on the ground floor.
The first prizeotel property opened in 2009 in Germany. The successful combination of smart lifestyle with affordable accommodation prices continued to be rolled out in Hamburg, Munich, Antwerp and Vienna, to name a few. The brand is currently present in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Belgium and includes around 20 properties in operation and under development, representing more than 4,200 rooms.
Adela Cristea, Vice President, Business Development UK & Ireland at Radisson Hotel Group, said: “We are very excited to announce the signing of our first prizeotel property in the UK and Ireland region after the brand’s fantastic growth across Europe. We have a strong presence with 10 properties and over 1,500 rooms across Ireland, and this new property will be a great addition to the Radisson Hotel Group portfolio.”
Additional openings and signings of new prizeotel properties in exciting European destinations will be announced soon.
The rapid expansion of Radisson RED
Another Radisson Hotel Group brand that has had impressive growth in the region over the past few years is Radisson RED, the upper-upscale brand that presents a playful twist on the conventional with the inclusion of art, music and fashion into each touchpoint of the guest experience. Radisson RED launched in the UK five years ago and has proven popular with guests, clients, partners and employees.
Recently, Radisson Hotel Group announced the signing of Radisson RED Huddersfield and Radisson RED Edinburgh Airport, set to open in 2025 and 2026, respectively. Radisson RED Huddersfield will undergo an extensive restoration and refurbishment of the historic George Hotel, originally built in 1851. The hotel will include 91 spacious guest rooms and suites, which will feature Radisson RED’s signature design as well as references to the history, culture, and people of Huddersfield, paying homage to the town.
Radisson RED Edinburgh Airport will be a new build property, with over 200 guest rooms. Its bar and restaurant will sit on the top floor, overlooking Edinburgh Airport and featuring outdoor terraces and meeting and event spaces. The property was recently recommended as one of five ‘Cool airport hotels across the world’, by The Club, British Airways’ Magazine.
The latest UK opening for the brand is Radisson RED Liverpool. Located in a thoughtfully-renovated Grade II-listed property and an original British railway hotel in the late 1800s, Radisson RED Liverpool blends history, legacy, and eclectic design. The property recently won the award ‘Liverpool City region project of the year’ by North West Regional Construction Awards.
The hotel’s modern barbecue and robata grill restaurant, Stoke, offers classic dishes with a grilled twist paired with unrivalled views of the neoclassical architecture and acclaimed concert venue of St George’s Hall, as well as the city’s cultural district. The hotel is located in a busy and vibrant area, with nearly 20 million passengers passing through Liverpool Lime Street every year.
Radisson RED Glasgow, opened in 2018, is a multi award-winning establishment. The hotel’s RED Sky Bar is ranked among the top 50 best bars in the world* and is the perfect place for a drink, afternoon tea, DJ sets and snacks with a view.
