A wave of speculative office and science park development is under way in the city - but is the strategy is as high risk as it sounds.

Now a new group of tech and science innovators stand on the shoulders of such giants. A host of artificial intelligence, cyber-security, smart technology and life science companies are laying down roots in the city and this burgeoning hub is in turn fuelling a construction boom.

Several hundred thousand square feet of speculative office and science park space is currently under development in and around the city. Normally, this would sound like a risky strategy but demand has been so strong that the question has not been whether there is too much supply but whether there is enough. So just how much more development can Cambridge take and who exactly is going to take it?
