The last thing property developers want their schemes likened to is a ghost town, but that’s exactly what happened last week thanks to spooky CGI images sent out to accompany a story about a major new development in Manchester getting the planning green light.

Hermes ghosts

Hermes Investment Management has secured planning permission to redevelop Redfern – a grade II-listed former warehouse and office building – into modern office space.

The plans will see the building’s famous redbrick façade maintained in a nod to Refdern’s historic past, but more worrying for potential occupiers are the ghostly business people populating

the CGI images emailed to members of the press.

Metropolis has been unable to confirm if the building is indeed haunted, but prospective tenants would be well advised to keep ghostbusters on speed dial.
