A member of CBRE’s property management team has come up with an unusual twist on a US cultural import. At a gender reveal party, a baby’s sex is typically revealed by cutting a cake: a blue sponge signifies a boy and a pink sponge signifies a girl.

Gender Reveal- Sarah Facey from LAH Property Marketing

But CBRE senior property manager Emma Lee had other ideas. At the 445,000 sq ft Holborn Bars offices in Midtown, she turned the lift lights pink to reveal the gender of the baby of Sarah Facey (pictured), one of LAH Property Marketing’s front-of-house team.

Facey said it was “an amazing way” of letting everyone know she was expecting a girl.

“It caused a bit of a stir in the building, and I was being congratulated all day by colleagues, staff, occupiers and visitors,” she added.

It just goes to show that there is a lot more to property management these days than rent collection and service charge administration.
