The ‘charidee’ season is in full swing at the moment and, as ever, many property folk are undertaking torturous tasks and challenges to raise money for worthy causes.

The latest Herculean effort to reach the Metropolis inbox involves Avison Young, which at the end of last month entered a 24-strong team in a Tough Mudder event.

The event entailed traversing 24 obstacles over 10 miles, which fully tested the team’s physical and mental strength.

Avison Young’s hardworking team was spurred on across the finish line by the memory of James Swallow, a principal at the company, following his untimely death last year.

Swallow’s family requested that the money raised by the team be donated to the Faraway Children’s Charity, which was established to ‘meet the diverse needs of disadvantaged, vulnerable or at-risk children and young people within Northamptonshire and the surrounding areas’.

Their rewards for slogging through the dirt? A very respectable £6,725 raised for the charity. All in all a muddy good day’s work.
