Marketing giant’s move from West End to Bishopsgate reflects wider shift eastward by tech and media firms.

The firm will share its new building, where a refurbishment is due to be completed in 2020, with insurer TP ICAP. The combination of this traditional City occupier with a media business more associated with the West End reflects a growing trend in the City in recent years.

Data from BNP Paribas Real Estate reveals that in the third quarter of this year, the media and technology sector took as much space in the City as banking and finance occupiers, each snapping up a 15% market share.

So what is the driving force behind this trend, and what can the market learn from McCann Worldgroup’s move east?
