In both periods, Burford was the best performing of the 33 property companies capitalised at £75m and over. Burford’s shares returned 13% in the five years to 31 December 1998 (compared with the All-Share’s 13.8%) and 15.3% in the ten-year period (compared with the All-Share’s 15.9%).
