UK-based investment manager Arlington Advisors has acquired two student accommodation portfolios for £280m in a joint venture with Equitix.

The portfolios comprise a total of 2,458 beds, making Arlington the largest independently-owned student accommodation platform in the UK.

The first is the Stellar Portfolio, which was acquired from Fusion Students, which comprises four assets and 1,857 beds in Newcastle, Nottingham, Cardiff and Bristol operated by Collegiate AC. According to Knight Frank, which acted for Fusion on the deal, it was sold for more than the £232m asking price.
