The Armani luxury group will enter the property sector tomorrow when 144 of its residences go on sale in Burj Dubai, scheduled to be the world’s tallest building. Financial Times

Armani, Versace and Bulgari are moving into property as luxury goods companies seek to create a lifestyle out of their brands. They are trying to entice the wealthy not just to wear the clothes and carry the bags but also to sleep in the beds, stay in the hotels and travel in the special-edition sports cars or aircraft.

Property experts in Dubai estimate that the 100-200 sq m apartments could each cost $2.5m-$5.5m.

Armani, plans at the end of 2008 to open the Armani Dubai hotel in the same building in late 2008..
