British Airways is to spend £60m on developing the world’s largest airline lounge complex at the new Terminal 5 at London Heathrow airport, its main global hub.
The lounges, to be known as the Galleries, will cater for first and business class passengers and have a capacity for up to 2,500 passengers.
The lounges are part of BA’s investment of £330m in its move to T5.
BA plans to transfer all of its Heathrow terminal operations from the present Terminals 1 and 4 to Terminals 5 and 3 between late March and October next year.
More than 90% of BA flights will operate from T5, where it will be the sole airline tenant.
