Revenue from Balfour Beatty’s overseas operations is expected to overtake that from the UK within the next three years according to Ian Tyler, chief executive.

The company said its US arm, which accounted for just 13% of turnover in 2006, would soon grow to match its UK operation as state budgets recover and stimulus money works its way to construction sites.

By 2011 to 2012 revenue would be split roughly 40-40-20 between the UK, North America and the rest of the world, compared with about 60-30-10 at the moment, Tyler said.
