Air Partner, the quoted aircraft-charter group, is to invest £7m to build a new terminal and hangar at Biggin Hill, the Kent. Sunday Times

Air Partner plans eventually to establish Biggin Hill as a rival to Farnborough in Hampshire, which has become a corporate-aviation hot spot thanks to TAG Aviation’s upmarket hangar and terminal facilities.

The business-jet boom has left the southeast airports favoured by corporate aircraft users – Farnborough, Luton and London City – full up.

Farnborough is allowed only 28,000 flights a year, with a strict limit on weekend activity. The government is now considering an application for relaxation of the weekend curbs.
