Student accommodation developer CityBlock has hired Sanctuary Group’s Samantha Davies as its new head of operations to lead on a planned expansion.
Davies joins the senior management team at the purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) specialist having spent the past 12 years at Sanctuary Group, most recently as operations manager in its student accommodation business. Prior to this, she worked in social housing and hospitality.
At CityBlock, her key responsibility will be to ensure all sites in CityBlock’s portfolio achieve 100% occupancy. Launched in 2002, CityBlock currently has properties in Lancaster, Reading and Durham, with a further two sites due to open in Lancaster in September 2019 and plans to target further growth in the coming academic year.
