Listed Swedish retail company Clas Ohlson has signed leases for two stores in Reading and Kingston taking its total number of UK stores to four.

The company has agreed to take 20,000 sq ft store in Reading which will open in November this year. It will be located on Broad Street and will sell more than 10,000 products from the Clas Ohlson range.

In Kingston it has taken a 20,000 sq ft store on Market Place which will also open in November this year.

The company, whose UK advertising slogan is ‘The Usefulshopp’, is planning to open a total of between four and eight stores in the UK by the end of April 2010. It sells DIY and electrical products for the home and sells similar products to Robert Dyas, Maplin and Argos.

It has already launched stores in Manchester and Croydon and the company said it plans to be a national brand in the UK. Clas Ohlson has been in operation for 90 years and has more than 100 stores in Sweden, Finland and Norway.
