US-based REIT fund Cohen & Steers has launched a new fund aimed at investing in the shares of listed property companies in the Asian Pacific region.
The Cohen & Steers Asia Pacific Real Estate Securities Fund will give investors from outside of the US the chance to invest in a highly volatile market that offers the potential for high returns.

The fund will be run by Derek Cheung, portfolio manager and head of the firm’s real estate securities research team in Hong Kong. He said: ‘The Asia Pacific real estate securities market is second in size to that of the U.S.
‘With continued adoption of REIT structures internationally and a healthy IPO pipeline in the region, we expect the market to continue growing.’
