Dublin-based investor D2 Private has bought a 15-strong portfolio of HBOS bank branches in the UK

Dublin-based investor D2 Private has bought a 15-strong portfolio of HBOS bank branches in the UK for £72m.

The banks acquired include branches in Leeds, Edinburgh, Derby, Nottingham and York. The deal for the portfolio, let to HBOS for a further 19 years, reflected a yield of just over 4%.

D2 was created in 2005 by ex-Quinlan Private director Deirdre Foley, entrepreneur David Arnold and Brendan O’Mara chairman of quantity surveyor Bruce Shaw.

Last month the consortium bid for Scottish Widows Investment Partnership and Henderson Global Investors’ Covent Garden portfolio, which included the landmark plaza, but were beaten to the 40-strong portfolio by GE Real Estate and Capital & Counties.
