Hampshire property company Dean and Dyball Developments has won the contract to build an £18m complex of Crown, magistrates’ and county courts in Salisbury.

The developer will work with Her Majesty’s Courts Service to build the 44,000 sq ft scheme, which will replace the existing court facilities in Salisbury and Devizes.

Dean and Dyball will develop a modern, high-profile building which it hopes will achieve BREEAM Excellent.

Standard Life
The scheme has been forward funded with Standard Life Investments, and will be placed in its £600m Long Lease Fund.

On completion, HMCS will take a 30-year lease with fixed rental uplifts.

Dean and Dyball were advised on funding by CBRE.

The construction arm of Dean and Dyball will start work on the site in the next few days and practical completion is scheduled for April 2009.
