Deborah Meaden, the Dragon’s Den star, is set to reap a second multimillion-pound fortune from the sale of caravan park operator Weststar Holidays to rival Parkdean Holidays. Daily Telegraph

Parkdean Holidays, which is owned by Jon Moulton’s Alchemy Partners, is understood to have yesterday bought Weststar Holidays from rival private equity firm Phoenix Equity Partners for around £83m. The merged group will be valued at around £250m.

Meaden’s parents founded Weststar in 1988. She began working for the company in 1993 and took control six years later.

She still owns 23% of Weststar and could net around £20m from a sale to Parkdean.

Since buying Weststar, Phoenix has added the Hayling Island holiday park in Hampshire to its three existing sites in Cornwall and Dorset.
