Developer Drum Property Group has submitted plans for a significant mixed-use scheme for the 2.9 acre Stead’s Place site near Leith Walk in Edinburgh.
Drum’s proposal will create a 126,300 sq ft mixed-used scheme anchored by affordable housing for local people and post-graduate student accommodation alongside a hotel, restaurant, café, retail units and a live music venue.
The site has been earmarked for development by the City of Edinburgh Council since 2008 and currently consists of disused or dated industrial and office space. All current tenants’ short-term leases on the site are now coming to an end in anticipation of the redevelopment.
