DTZ has appointed Christopher Wilton as its vice chairman for the Middle East with immediate effect.

Paul Idzik, group chief executive at DTZ, said: ‘Christopher’s primarily client-facing role will enhance our dialogue with world-class institutions in the region; particularly in the capital markets area.’

Wilton has held a number of high-profile roles in the Middle East including ambassador to Kuwait, British consul general in Dubai and commercial counsellor at the British Embassy in Saudi Arabia.

Wilton said: ‘DTZ is a leading player in the Middle East property sector and I am looking forward to working with an excellent team of property professionals. A strong Middle East business is integral to the success of the DTZ Group worldwide.’

DTZ said the latest appointment ‘demonstrates group CEO Paul Idzik’s directive to support DTZ’s underlying business performance by drawing on top level managerial experience and skills from different industries to complement DTZ’s existing wealth of real estate expertise’.
