World’s biggest advertising firm considers investment in regions to avoid losing more staff to tech rivals.

The embattled firm, which was hit by the sudden resignation of founder and chief executive Sir Martin Sorrell last month, is thought to be weighing up the move as part of a “defence tactic” against losing staff to the likes of Google and Facebook.

Discussions are understood to have taken place at a senior level in the UK business but are at an early stage and no firm decision has been made.
