Germany’s construction sector expanded turnover by 20% to €8.5bn ($11.5bn, £5.8bn) in the first two months of this year, according to official data published yesterday. Financial Times

Michael Glos, economics minister, is expected tomorrow to revise upwards to the government’s growth forecast for this year, to 2.4% after the country’s top five economic thinktanks issued a similar forecast last week, and highlighted energy-efficient building projects as the fastest-growing segment of the industry.
