The Mayor of London’s office has refused permission for real estate entrepreneur Johnny Sandelson’s plans to turn Heythrop College in Kensington Square into 142 new retirement living homes because the scheme did not meet the 35% affordable housing target.
The London Borough of Kensington and Chelsea had previously approved the scheme, but the Mayor of London’s office overruled the decision saying the affordable housing allocation of five homes “fell well short” of the 35% threshold.
