If approved, the mixed-use scheme will comprise six buildings with 56,300 sq ft of offices, 36,600 sq ft of retail and leisure and 519 homes.

HUB and Smedvig have submitted a two-phase application to the Royal Borough of Winsor and Maidenhead.

The first phase would involve demolishing properties  now on the site and developing an office block, 23,637 sq ft of retail and 375 homes in four new buildings.

The site is next to Maidenhead station, which will be served by Crossrail’s Elizabeth Line in 2019.

“The site is at the heart of Maidenhead and is hugely important to local people,” said HUB managing director Steve Sanham.

“Our proposals follow a wide-ranging programme of engagement and consultation and have the potential to transform the town centre, with a vibrant mix of homes, workspace, shops, restaurants, cafes and new public space.”
