London Metropolitan University has sold Tufnell Park Halls, a hall of residence site in North London, to Opal Properties for £37.5m .

Opal Properties , the student hall developer, plans to expand the exisitng 225 single occupancy rooms to create a nother 552 rooms. Planning permission is already in place for this extension.

Jonathan Goldman, GVA Grimley associate, said that the response to the product from over 60 investors, developers and operators ‘proved that there is still very high demand for well located product in the London tube zone s 1 and 2.

GVA Grimley acted for London Metropolitan University and Opal Properties acted for itself.
