Politicians in the House of Lords are being urged to block plans to introduce home information packs. Sunday Telegraph

Those opposed to the packs, which are due to be introduced on 1 June, believe that a ‘fatal amendment’ to the planned legislation is now the only way to prevent them causing chaos in the housing market.

A draft order to approve the packs will be laid before the Lords on Thursday for rubber-stamping, but could, in theory, be destroyed by the so-called fatal amendment.
