Designer outlet developer McArthurGlen has appointed Henrik Madsen to head its UK operations.

The Danish-born Madsen, whose position as UK regional director is effective immediately, will be responsible for leading the business across its seven UK centres.

He was previously senior vice president at Kenneth Cole Productions and has worked before with IPI Spa Italia where he was the brand director for the global launch of Miu Miu.

The appointment follows an organisational restructuring at McArthurGlen that has been under way since April and has created three regional divisions: UK, Northern Europe and Southern Europe.

The specialty retail developer is active in UK, France, Germany, Italy, Austria and The Netherlands where it operates 15 designer outlet villages with a further six under construction including its first outlet in Greece which will open next year.

Madsen will report to McArthurGlen chief executive Julia Calabrese.

He joins Eric Decouvelaere who heads the Northern Europe region and Giovanni Galbiati who heads the Southern Europe division.
